How to Renew Your Certified Electrocardiogram Technician (CET) Certification
To maintain your Certified Electrocardiogram Technician (CET) certification, you must complete the required Continuing Education (CE) hours and submit a renewal application through the NHCO Portal.
Before beginning your renewal, we recommend watching our CET Renewal Guide video, which provides step-by-step instructions and answers many of the most common renewal questions.
Step 1: Verify Your Certification Expiration Date (Optional)If you're unsure when your certification expires, you can verify your certification status using the NHCO Verification Tool:

Step 2: Complete the Required Continuing Education (CE) HoursComplete your required Continuing Education (CE) hours through NHCO's approved CET continuing education provider:
After completing your CE courses:
- Download your CE Summary or Certificate of Completion.
- Save the document—you will upload it with your renewal application.
Important Information
- Continuing Education is required for all CET renewal applications.
- Work experience or employment hours cannot be accepted in place of CE hours.
- Applications submitted without valid CE documentation will be declined.
Purchase the appropriate CET Renewal Application through the NHCO Portal:

If you do not already have an NHCO Portal account, create one before continuing.
Step 4: Submit Your Renewal ApplicationAfter purchasing your renewal application:
- Log in to your NHCO Portal account.
- Open your CET Renewal course.
- Complete the renewal application.
- Upload your CE Summary where indicated.
- Submit your application for review.
Renewal applications are typically reviewed within 5 business days.
Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive a notification by email with the status of your renewal.
