How to Purchase a Renewal

Certified professionals renewing their credential must purchase the Renewal Application through the NHCO Portal. Before submitting a renewal application, candidates must ensure they have met the required continuing education (CE) requirements and have the necessary documentation available for upload.

Before Purchasing

Before purchasing your renewal application, make sure you have:

  • Verified your certificate expiration date.
  • Completed the required CE hours through an approved provider.
  • Obtained your CE transcript or certificate of completion documentation.
  • An NHCO Portal account.
Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Verify your certificate expiration date through the NHCO verification page:

  2. Complete the required CE hours through an approved provider:
    https://nhcocert.com/renew-your-certification
  3. Obtain your CE transcript or certificate of completion from your CE provider.
  4. Log into your NHCO Portal account.
    • If you are new to the portal, create an account.
  5. Purchase the Renewal Application applicable to your certification expiration date.
  6. Open the Renewal course.
  7. Click Start Your Application.
  8. Upload your Continuing Education documentation.
  9. Submit your renewal application for processing.

Renewal applications generally require:

5–7 business days

Processing times may vary depending on application volume and whether additional information is required.

After Approval

Once approved:

  • You will receive an email notification.
  • Your certification status will be updated.
  • You will receive an updated certificate sent via email.
