How do I begin certification?
Create an NHCO Portal account, purchase the CPT Application & Exam, complete and submit your application, wait for approval, and then take your online exam.
Does purchasing my exam automatically submit my application?
No. You must complete and submit the application yourself through the NHCO Portal.
How long does application processing take?
Applications are typically reviewed within up to 5 business days. Processing may take longer during holidays or periods of high submission volume.
When can I take my exam?
Your exam becomes available after your application has been approved.
Is the exam offered in person?
No. NHCO certification exams are offered online only.
Do I need an exam access code?
No. If you are prompted for an access code, the Honorlock browser extension may not be installed or configured correctly.
What happens if I don't complete my certification in time?
The CPT 1st Attempt Application & Exam purchase includes a 90-day access period. If you do not complete the required steps before your access expires, you must follow the applicable policies outlined in the Knowledge Base.
