Exam Preparation & Device Requirements
Before taking your NHCO certification exam, you must ensure your device meets all technical requirements. Preparing your device in advance helps prevent technical issues and delays on exam day.
Compatible Devices
NHCO certification exams may be taken on:
- Desktop computer
- Laptop computer
- Chromebook (if compatible with Honorlock)
Mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets, are not supported for NHCO certification exams.
Required SoftwareBefore launching your exam, you must install:
- Google Chrome (required browser)
- Honorlock Chrome Extension
- Honorlock Desktop Application (Honorlock App)
Both the Honorlock Chrome Extension and the Honorlock Desktop Application are required. Failure to install either component may prevent you from accessing your exam.
Browser RequirementsNHCO certification exams are supported only in Google Chrome.
Unsupported browsers include:
- Safari
- Microsoft Edge
- Firefox
- Opera
- Any other web browser
Using an unsupported browser may prevent Honorlock from launching or your exam from loading correctly.
Camera & Microphone RequirementsYour device must have:
- A working webcam
- A working microphone
During Honorlock setup, you must allow access to:
- Camera
- Microphone
- Screen sharing
Selecting Block instead of Allow may prevent your exam from launching successfully.
Internet RequirementsA reliable internet connection is required throughout your entire exam session.
For the best experience, NHCO recommends:
- A stable high-speed internet connection
- A wired connection whenever possible
- Closing unnecessary applications and browser tabs before starting your exam
Before beginning your exam, be sure to:
- Install Google Chrome.
- Install the Honorlock Chrome Extension.
- Install the Honorlock Desktop Application.
- Run the Honorlock System Check.
- Restart your computer after installation.
- Verify your webcam and microphone are functioning properly.
- Complete your exam in a quiet testing environment.
